Lime is composit mixture of calcium and its powder state becomes lumps due to presence of moisture. Using Procedure:

Directions for Use and Dose Rates

RXSOL-20-2027-025 is specially formulated for cleaning double bottom, deep and wing tanks etc, used for fuel oils. It can also be used for local cleaning and degreasing of engine rooms and on deck.

Soak Method

for heavy soil put parts into undiluted RXSOL-20-2027-025, for general soiling use a solution of 10-30% RXSOL-20-2027-025 in water. Parts should be soaked for at least 30 minutes before washing off with water.

Spraying Method

Use neat RXSOL-20-2027-025 over all soiled areas. Allow 10-20 minutes for reaction , then rinse with high pressure water hose., Scrubbing will assist the cleaning operation for stubborn deposits.

Rock and Roll Method

Recommended time to clean and gas-free under normal circumstances would be 3-6 days ,for cleaning of double bottom tanks at sea.
1) First of all heat the remaining oil in tanks .
2)By stripping constantly. flush the tank with sea water,
3) Close all suction and discharge valves .
4) 1st Dose Fill the tanks by ½ to 1 litre RXSOL-20-2027-025 per tone of water through pipe or manhole , for 75-80% of capacity of tank to be cleaned.
5) Then fill tank to 25% capacity with sea water, raise the temperature up to 60°C maximum, and maintain this temperature for 24 hours.
6) Top up tank to 75-80% capacity with sea water, continue to heat for 48 to 72 hours.
7) Discharge and strip tank. Fill to 50-60% capacity with sea water and allow 2 hours rinsing time.
8) Discharge tank and strip, flushing tank with sea water for 2 hours,stripping continuously. When completed, inspect tank to ascertain if second cleaning is required. If so:
9) For completion add second dose of RXSOL-20-2027-025, fill tank with sea water 75-80% capacity and raise the temperature to 60°C maximum. Maintain this for 48 to 72 hours. And recirculate the solution .
10) Discharge and strip tank, flush with sea water, stripping continuously for 2 hours.
11) To gas-free, fill tank with sea water to overflow through vents and sounding pipes, discharge and strip completely.

Application:

The correct quantities of RXSOL-11-1052-025 requirement for descaling will depend upon the character and thickness of scale deposits. For regular de-scaling of dish washing machines prepare a 2 – 4% solution with cold water, and fill the tank just below the overflow level, heat the mixture and allow to run machine until lime scale deposits disappear. Apply full strength to highly contaminated areas where spray does not reach. Drain the tank and fill with cold water and run the machine for 5 minutes and flush with water until the outlet water shows neutral pH. Good results are obtained when descaling is done at 60 Deg. C.

Dip tank method can be used for brightening aluminum, stainless steel equipments and utensils. Prepare a 3 – 5% solution of RXSOL-11-1052-5 with water and soak the utensils for a while to obtain a bright surface. Wash thoroughly with cold water and rinse dry.

PROCEDURE FOR SCALE CLEANING for HOUSE HOLD :: --
1. Combine one part water and one part with RXSOL-15-1052-5 . Place the mixture in the pot, kettle or coffeemaker (where you normally put water).

2. Bring the diluted RXSOL-15-1052-5 solution to a boil in pots and kettles. Turn the stove off once the mixture comes to a boil. Allow the mixture to cool in the pot or kettle overnight.

3. Empty the RXSOL-15-1052-5 solution from the pots the following day. Scrub away any remaining lime scale using a mildly abrasive cleaning pad.

4. Run a cycle on coffeemakers so that the RXSOL-15-1052-5 solution works through all parts of the machine, then run clear water through the machine two or three times to flush out any RXSOL-15-1052-5 residue.

TYPICAL METHOD :-- HOW TO CLEAN KETTLE SCALE ?

That unsightly white, chalky substance in your kettle is called lime scale. It is a result of built-up calcium deposits that occur when water with high calcium levels evaporates, like when you boil water in your kettle. Although lime scale is not harmful, if you don't wash it out, it can build up and eventually clog your kettle's spout.

PROCEDURE :

1> Fill the kettle with a half cup of RXSOL HA 1008.

2> Add two cups of water.

3> Heat the kettle until the liquid boils. Let it boil for a few minutes.

4> Empty the kettle.

5> Rinse the kettle with fresh water. Repeat Steps 1 through 4 if any lime scale remains on the kettle.

6> Wash the kettle before you use it.

You can use white vinegar or citric acid, which ever you have available to you.

There are commercial de-scalers available, but make sure that they are specifically approved for use on kettles and are not metal de-scalers. If you choose to use them, do follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Step 5: Make up the mixture

If you are using vinegar, dilute it with water in a 50:50 ratio. If you are using citric acid, mix 30g with 500ml of water.

Step 6: Using vinegar to de-scale

Vinegar should be left in the kettle for 1 hour, without boiling.

Step 7: Using lemon juice to de-scale

Pour the lemon juice in to the kettle and boil. Leave the kettle to cool before emptying it.

Step 8: Using lemons to descale

If your kettle only needs mild de-scaling, you can try quartering a lemon, filling the kettle with water and putting in the lemon. Boil the kettle once or twice, and leave to soak until the water has cooled.

Step 9: Wipe down

If there is any limescale left in the kettle, you can wipe it down with a small amount of bicarbonate of soda on a damp cloth. Let the element cool down, and unplug the kettle before you do this.

Step 10: Rinse

Fully rinse the kettle with fresh water at least 5 times before using again.

This is mixed with fresh water 3 to 20 percent depending on deposition of scaling. After using SA-1008, sense all metal surfaces with 0.5 percent of RXSOL-54-1008-025 at least 2-4 house , up to neutrial of PH valve.

Procedure-of-use: The most effective descaling is accomplished by circulation.In the case of small components,the soak method in an immersion bath can be used. If the equipment to be cleaned is contaminated by oil, grease or sludge, then pre-cleaning with DEGREASER ( RXSOL OB 1005 ) is necessary. Depending on the extent of scaling, use a solution of 2.5-10% RXSOL-54-1008-025 . The solution will have a red colour which changes to orange when 85% of the acid has been neutralized , & to colourless when the solution is totally neutralized. Whenever possible, the solution should be heated to 60°C.Neutralised solutions can be re-activated by adding more RXSOL-54-1008-025 until the red colour reappears. This should not be done more than twice. RXSOL-54-1008-025 should not be used on Aluminium , Zinc, Tin or Galvanized surfaces.

Using Procedure:

RXSOL-11-1008-025 is mixed with fresh water 3 to 20 percent depending on deposition of scaling.

The most effective method is circulation for large systems or components like boilers, evaporators, condensers, heat exchangers and generally closed systems that have the capability to circulate at a temperature of approximately 40-60°C, for 6-12 hours and solutions of 10-40% of RXSOL-11-1008-025 in water. Keep in mind that the strength of the solution is analogous to the degree of deposition of scale .
In case of small components , the soak method in an immersion bath can be used.

If the equipment to be cleaned is contaminated by oil, grease, sludge or carbonized oil, then first of all clean the system with degreaser RXSOL-10-1005.

RXSOL-11-1008-025 should be mixed with fresh water to form a solution of 5-30%, depending on the extent of scaling.

PRECAUTION :::it is essential to thoroughly rinse all metal surfaces at least once with a 0.5% solution of RXSOL-20-2005 ( www.rxmarine.com/alkaleen-liquid-heavy-duty-25-ltr ) in fresh water. This solution should be circulated for 2-4 hours or until an acceptable pH value is obtained. This will neutralize any remaining acidity & passivate steel surfaces.

RXSOL-11-1008--DC should not be used on Aluminium, Zinc, Tin, or any Galvanized Surfaces for which a special grade cleaner should be used. HEDP is used as chelating agent. The dosage of 1-10mg/L is preferred as scale inhibitor, 10-50mg/L as corrosion inhibitor, and 1000-2000mg/L as detergent. Usually, HEDP is used together with polycarboxylic acid. It is used as a strong chelating agent for metal ions like Ca, Mg & Fe in water treatment, textile applications. Its efficient inhibition for CaCO3 & CaSO4 alone or in combination with low molecular weight polymers. Very effective in protecting metal corrosion. HEDP also having very strong chlorine stability.

Fill cleaning tank with RO solution then, Slowly add 25 grammes of ORG 10 for each litre of cleaning tank capacity. Thoroughly mix cleaning solution by using a mixer or by circulating it through the cleaning pump. The solution may be heated to improve cleaning effectiveness.
Do not exceed the membrane manufacturer’s temperature limits.

TO USE

For normal CIP cleaning or soak cleaning RO and UF system completely , Pre dissolve in warm water before adding to system. Typically used Concentration is 0.7 to 1.5 % or 9-20 ounces of RXSOL ORG 10 per each 10 Gallon (67-150 grams/10 l) f water. Circulate throughout the system for 20 Minutes at a temperature of 120-160 degree F (49 – 71 degree C)

Observe the recommendation of the manufacturer of the membrane for Maximum temperature.

In cases of heavy fouling, the first return flow (up to 15% of the cleaning tank volume) should be diverted to drain to prevent redeposition of removed solids.
In multi-pass systems, best results will be achieved if each pass is cleaned separately.
The solution should be discarded if it becomes turbid or discoloured by removed material.
A fresh solution should then be prepared before cleaning additional passes.

Rinse with permeate before returning the system to service.

RXSOL-11-1008-020 is mixed with fresh water 3 to 20 percent depending on deposition of scaling.

The most effective method is circulation for large systems or components like boilers, evaporators, condensers, heat exchangers and generally closed systems that have the capability to circulate at a temperature of approximately 40-60°C, for 6-12 hours and solutions of 5-40% of RXSOL-11-1008-020 in water. Keep in mind that the strength of the solution is analogous to the degree of deposition of scale .
In case of small components , the soak method in an immersion bath can be used.

If the equipment to be cleaned is contaminated by oil, grease, sludge or carbonized oil, then first of all clean the system with degreaser RXSOL-10-1005. RXSOL-11-1008-020 should be mixed with fresh water to form a solution of 10-30%, depending on the extent of scaling. After using RXSOL-11-1008-020 ,

PRECAUTION :::it is essential to thoroughly rinse all metal surfaces at least once with a 0.5% solution of RXSO-20-2005 in fresh water. This solution should be circulated for 2-4 hours or until an acceptable pH value is obtained. This will neutralize any remaining acidity & passivate steel surfaces.

RXSOL-11-1008-020 should not be used on Aluminium, Zinc, Tin, or any Galvanized Surfaces for which a special grade cleaner should be used. Directions for Use and Dose Rates
The most effective descaling is accomplished by circulation. In the case of small components, the soak method in an immersion bath can be used. If the equipment to be cleaned is contaminated by oil, grease and sludge, then pre-cleaning with Seaclean Plus or Enviroclean. Depending on the extent of scaling, use a solution of 2.5-10% Descalex. The solution will have a red colour which disappear when the solution is neutralised. Whenever possible, the solution should be heated to 60°C. Neutralised solutions can be reactivated by adding more Descalex until the red colour reappears. This should not be done more than twice. Using Procedure:

RXSOL-11-1008-025 is mixed with fresh water 3 to 20 percent depending on deposition of scaling.

If the equipment to be cleaned is contaminated by oil, grease, sludge or carbonized oil, then first of all clean the system with degreaser RXSOL-10-1005.

RXSOL-11-1008-025 should be mixed with fresh water to form a solution of 5-30%, depending on the extent of scaling.

Note:

After using RXSOL-11-1008-025, sense all metal surfaces with 0.5 percent of RXSOL-10-1005, at least 2-4 hour , up to neutral of PH value.

FOR TANK CLEANING

RECOMMENDATION : 0.2% TO 100%

Procedure for Use :-

RXSOL-16-1011-025is highly concentrate
Dilute in water (always use a plastic jar and RXSOL-16-1011-025should be added to water never add water to (RXSOL-16-1011-025.)
The surface should be sound clean and free of oil, grease, dirt etc.
Diluted materials apply on the rusted area for 15 to 20 minutes then wash off with water repeat if necessary.
(For stubborn rusted stains.)

NOTE:-
For steel surfaces; remove oil, grease and old paint. Wet down entire surface with neat Metal Bright- Rx and allow to dry. The second wash may be necessary. The surface should have a grey/white appearance when the Metal Bright- Rx is dry. Steel surfaces will have a resistance to rust and will render a good base for paint.For removal of rust stains on painted surfaces and wood, Metal Bright Rx should be applied at full concentration for heavy stains, or diluted to 20-50% for light stains. Allow to soak for 15 to 30 minutes and wash off with water. A second application may be necessary to remove the stubborn stains.

Spraying Direction:-
Using an empty/clean 210-litre drum, fill with 190 litres of fresh water and add 20 litres of Metal Bright This makes a 10% solution, which can be sprayed onto areas in coated tanks where rust stains are showing and over actual rusted areas. Once spraying is completed, wait 20-30 minutes and fresh water rinses with lots of water if possible use Butterworth machines for a more efficient result. This method can be used in stainless tanks to “freshen up” the look of the stainless materials. Make sure to rinse the tank very well, as residual detergent within the Metal Bright will show up in a Wall Wash.
Injection – Not suitable.

Re-circulation:–
When hand spraying is inadequate (too much area to cover), prepare a 2% - 5% solution in the tank using fresh water, heat solution to 50o C, then circulate the solution through Butterworth machines for 3 x 45 minutes drops minimum. When using fixed machine recirculate for a minimum of 3 cycles. Rinse out the tank using hot seawater 85o C for 2 hours making sure that there is no form remaining in the water at the pump stack drain cock. After the hot wash, the tank must be rinsed with fresh water and dried.

* If the mixture is allowed to overheat, it will soften epoxy/phenolic coating.
* Use a strainer at the pump stack when circulating any solution.

Metal Brite at the low pH end effectively dissolves rust faster even more readily than the diluted one. In marine shipping industry, Metal Brite is used as a rust remover. Before application of Metal Brite, we have to understand its cleaning principal...

In general terms and thumb rule for Metal Brite is MORE RUST required more Metal Brite. Chemically Rust { iron oxide (FeO) } is soluble in pH values below 4.0, . Thus, the oxide (oxygen) dissolves as it is formed instead of depositing on the metal's surface. So it is clear more rust required more Metal Brite to get dissolve. In practical if the area is fully rusted corroded then direct Metal Brite can be used to dissolve rust particles, while in light contaminated part Metal Brite can be diluted in between 20 to 70% .

2nd factor is the time which is directly affecting the cleaning result. If base metal is aluminium then use Metal Brite concentration 10 to 30% for not more then 5 Minutes. For removal of rust stains on painted or iron surfaces, use 10-30% of Metal Brite soultion for 15-20 minutes. And for heavily rusted and corroded or soiled surfaces and tarnish on copper and brass, use a solution of 20-50%, for 15-40 minutes.

The 3rd important point always be noted, After cleaning of rust from Metal Brite all area should be fully rinsed and clean properly with fresh water. And for best long time result to keep rust free surface, Surface can be chemically neutralized with RXSOL-41-8896-025 ( dilution ration 1 Ltr RXSOL-41-8896-025 with 10 Ltr water ). The scientific reason behind that is As With the Rust oxide gone with Metal Brite, the metal surface is in direct contact with the acidic solution, and the corrosion reaction proceeds at a greater rate than it does at higher pH values. PROCEDURE FOR SCALE CLEANING for HOUSE HOLD :: --
1. Combine one part water and one part with RXSOL-15-1052-5 . Place the mixture in the pot, kettle or coffeemaker (where you normally put water).

2. Bring the diluted RXSOL-15-1052-5 solution to a boil in pots and kettles. Turn the stove off once the mixture comes to a boil. Allow the mixture to cool in the pot or kettle overnight.

3. Empty the RXSOL-15-1052-5 solution from the pots the following day. Scrub away any remaining lime scale using a mildly abrasive cleaning pad.

TYPICAL METHOD :-- HOW TO CLEAN KETTLE SCALE ?

PROCEDURE :

1> Fill the kettle with a half cup of RXSOL HA 1008.

2> Add two cups of water.

3> Heat the kettle until the liquid boils. Let it boil for a few minutes.

4> Empty the kettle.

5> Rinse the kettle with fresh water. Repeat Steps 1 through 4 if any lime scale remains on the kettle.

6> Wash the kettle before you use it.

You can use white vinegar or citric acid, which ever you have available to you.

Step 4: What about de-scalers?

If you are using vinegar, dilute it with water in a 50:50 ratio. If you are using citric acid, mix 30g with 500ml of water.

Step 6: Using vinegar to de-scale

Vinegar should be left in the kettle for 1 hour, without boiling.

Step 7: Using lemon juice to de-scale

Pour the lemon juice in to the kettle and boil. Leave the kettle to cool before emptying it.

Step 8: Using lemons to descale

Step 9: Wipe down

If there is any limescale left in the kettle, you can wipe it down with a small amount of bicarbonate of soda on a damp cloth. Let the element cool down, and unplug the kettle before you do this.

Step 10: Rinse

Fully rinse the kettle with fresh water at least 5 times before using again.

The solution will have a red colour which changes to orange when 85% of the acid has been neutralized , & to colourless when the solution is totally neutralized. Whenever possible, the solution should be heated to 60°C.Neutralised solutions can be re-activated by adding more RXSOL-40-1048-025 until the red colour reappears.

The steam boiler which has solid mass of mineral deposits approximate mass calculation will help to use proper volume of RXSOL-40-1048-025 Descaler. As per gallon in concentrated form of RXSOL-40-1048-025 has the ability to dissolve approximately 1.5kg of scale mass
For example if descaling required for home appliances , brewing shop 1 - 3 Table spoon is sufficient to clean while for Industrial cleaning multiple Gallon volume required.

As for the other parts, The RXSOL-40-1048-025 works more quickly with hot water than cold. Try using RXSOL-40-1048-025 with the hot maintain the temperature. And give sufficint time to dissolve mineral deposits in some cases complete dissolving may reuqire bath water above 100F over night period.

Around two tablespoons to a liter of water is a 'normal' mix. You could go 3 or 4 tablespoons for heavier scale. When I do my every 6 months descale I use the 2 tablespoons per liter mix and it works just fine. Hot water is more aggressive so when you put all the parts in a tub to descale, put your water and RXSOL-40-1048-025 in a bit stock pot, bring it to a low boil then dump it in your tub with the parts.

Almost forgot, do not use an aluminum pot or Teflon coated. Use stainless. The acidic part of RXSOL-40-1048-025 will eat up the aluminum and may blister the Teflon.

Start the cleaning operation under the rim of the commode or top rim of the urinal using the side of the applicator. Force the bowl cleaner up and in to the water outlet holes allowing the product to run down the sides of the bowl or urinal. This will allow the full strength product to come into direct contact with the areas most likely to have the worst build up of organic soils. Proper disinfection requires a thorough cleaning of the trap area as well as the bowl. If you have done a proper job of forcing all the standing water out, you should have no trouble swabbing the trap and bowl without the product becoming diluted. Allow this product to remain for at least 10 minutes until all rust, scale and deposits are loosened. Rinse by flushing. Use a germicidal cleaner for the seat and outside areas - do not use this product on any surface outside the commode or urinal.

Scaling is caused in membranes because the level of hardness salts in the water becomes highly concentrated as it passes through the RO unit. In smaller units scale formation can be prevented by base exchange softening the make-up water but for larger systems that is very expensive. We have developed a range of easy to handle, cost-effective RO Antiscalant which increase the solubility of the hardness salts so they remain in solution rather than forming scale on the membrane. Our cost-effective RO antiscalants will inhibit a wide range of foulants including calcium carbonate, calcium sulphate, barium sulphate, strontium sulphate, calcium fluoride, silica and iron.

RO Antiscalants are dosed directly to the RO feed water tank or feedwater line (after pretreatment) at the recommended dosage of 1-3 mg/L and maximum dosage at 8mg/L, subject to inlet water quality and parameters is respect of Calcium Hardness, Iron, TDS, Alkalinity, pH and silica content. Maximum dilution should be 10% with RO or DI water for temperature less than 30 deg C. For higher temperature the dilution ratio can increase.

Dilution:

This product is formulated to be injected neat. However, if a dilution is required, use demineralized or RO permeate water. If neither of these is available, softened water may be substituted. The dilution for Vitec 1000 should not result in a solution strength of less than 10%. This guidelin will protect the effectiveness of the internal bacteriostat which inhibits bacterial growth in the drum and feed tank.Maximum dilution is temperature related as shown below.
